Apple And Google Are Culpable Of Hacking Smartphones; Says Telegram’s Founder, Pavel Durov.
This time, the scandal focused on the use of spyware by the Israeli Company NSO. The company’s product, known as Pegasus, was used by various countries to monitor political and influential individuals, this appeared in the case of the surveillance of journalists of the Al-Jazeera TV channel.
This time, the scandal received a great response from the public. French President Emmanuel Macron changed his phone number and demanded an explanation from the Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet regarding the operations of the NSO cyber-security firm.
Pavel Durov is the founder of the messaging platform Telegram. He often talks about how Apple is the greatest evil, however, he blames Google this time also.
Since 2018, according to him, he has been under NSO’s monitoring, yet never been his concern as he has nothing to as well as being a honest person and they finds no important information.
But such surveillance tools are in use against far more powerful and famous people. And the fact that this is possible is the fault of Apple and Google; who created unsafe software products and this has become “a huge problem for humanity.”
“That is why I invite the governments of the world to start acting against the duopoly of Apple and Google in the smartphone market in order to force them to open their ecosystems and create conditions for better competition,” – Pavel Durov.
– However, for the hesitant officials, he hopes that the target of surveillance will prompt them to change their minds.
As per the founder of Telegram, Google and Apple are part of a global surveillance network that enables intelligence agencies to monitor and collect information from people. These companies are deliberately introduce backdoors into their operating systems; disguising them as security bugs that allow intelligence agencies to access information on any smartphone in the world.
Pavel Durov, according to him, anyone can use such surveillance tools and not only can the US Intelligence Service hack any iPhone and Android smartphone; but it can also be by any other organization. Believe that “there is no way to protect your device from this. It doesn’t matter what application you use, because the system is hacked on a deeper level.”
Pavel Durov blames Google and Apple for creating such situations where hackers can easily access smartphones. He said that these two companies covertly embed backdoors in their operating system to enable them to be hacked and they do this as a directive of these special services. — There is a chance that he is right.
