With our biggest launch of the year, we aim to give you a real alternative to Big Tech. Today’s update expands our integrated tools in the browser with major additions: Vivaldi Translate and the much-awaited beta versions of Vivaldi Mail, Calendar, and Feed Reader.

A steady version of the Vivaldi web browser is now available to download and it accompanies yet another useful underlying feature, a built-in translator.

Introducing Vivaldi Translate.

Vivaldi 4.0’s translation ability is promoted as a security, privacy-friendly agreeable choice to Google and Bing Translator. The text-content transmogrification technology is undertaken utilizing the tech from Lingvanex however is hosted by Vivaldi on their servers in Iceland. The translation feature is available for both Desktop(Windows, Mac & Linux) and Android.

It’s a team-up that Vivaldi says helps “keep translations out of the span of companies like Google or Microsoft.”

The eagerly-awaited beta release of Vivaldi Mail, Vivaldi Feed Reader and Vivaldi Calendar are now here on your desktop. While you can choose to use Vivaldi Mail Beta with your existing mail and calendar services, you can also set up an account on vivaldi.net or add a trusted third-party service, such as Fastmail.
